Some of the courses available include:
British Computing Society Certificate in Basic IT Skills - this short course of around 16 hours is aimed at those have rarely used a computer before and introduces the user to the basic computer applications and using the internet and e-mail.
Scottish Qualifications Association Certificate in IT Skills - for those who have used a computer before but are not confident. This course runs for 36 hours over 5 days but delivery is variable according to your requirements.
European Computer Driving Licence - an internationally recognised qualification which is the standard benchmark for IT competence. This course can be completed in around 1 year depending on ability and is designed for studying via e-training and at the users own speed with on-site tutor support. The course comprises of 7 modules and is e-tested with the ECDL Certificate being awarded upon successful completion.
Microsoft Office Specialist - available in Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint (2003 & 2007) - these courses enable users to become Microsoft Certified Application Specialists in chosen subjects.
Study can be self-led or with tutor support, students use a Microsoft workbook and can access the Microsoft IT Academy Online Learning Programme. Course duration is around 25 hours per module, depending on previous knowledge and ability. Completion of chosen subjects will ensure delegates are capable of supporting other colleagues in their use of Microsoft applications.
Microsoft Office Expert - available in Word and Excel (2003) - for those looking to gain advanced level expertise. Courses are studied in the same method and duration as the Specialist courses.
Become a Microsoft Office Specialist Master! Candidates need to successfully complete MS Word and Excel at Expert level plus PowerPoint and Access at Specialist level to achieve this award.
