Education Maintenance Allowance
The Education Maintenance Allowance for 2008/9 is awarded to students born on or after the 1st March 1990 who stay on in further education after reaching the statutory leaving age.
The award is based on the parental income:

Ineligible |
Students who do not qualify for any award are not eligible for the Christmas and June £150 Bonuses.
However, students of this age qualify for the full payment of the Travel and Study element of the Bursary award.
No payment is made during holiday periods.
The EMA is paid for 100% attendance whilst the Bonuses should reward completion of the course work, behavior and attitude.
