Additional Assistance is available to all eligible students who face financial hardship whilst studying. There are four separate funds which are administered here at the college.

Funds are limited so early application is recommended.

FE and HE Discretionary applications are decided by an income and expenditure calculation.

Although the students earned income is not taken into the calculation of the Bursary award it is in this case. The award is based on all the family income including child benefit and tax credits.

The award can be up to a maximum of £3,500 each year.

The FE and HE Childcare applications are also based on an income and expenditure calculation.

Lone parents are exempt from any contribution. The college will pay for all their childcare needs with registered child minders.

HE Lone parents are expected to apply to SAAS for the maximum childcare available which would be payable to the college.
