Learning Support

Learning Support is offered through the college Learner Development Team.

We work with all students whether you are attending college straight from school or are returning to education.

We offer study skills workshops in:

• Note taking
• Improving your memory and concentration
• Working with numbers – using a calculator
• Organising your studies
• Understanding and using TextHELP software
• Improving your handwriting
• Preparing for assessments

We also offer specialist assistance in:

• Maths
• Communication
• Access to assistive technology
• Adult Literacy

The support needs of many students will be met within the teaching areas and the study skills workshops; however we do recognise that some students may require specialist support.

Students who have specific learning difficulties such as: dyslexia or dyscalculia will be offered specialist support to suit their needs.
