How to Apply
You can apply anytime throughout the year, although early application is recommended as places on courses are limited and are issued on a first-come-first-served basis, providing entry requirements are met.
International students should:
Download the EU application form from the downloads page and save it as a Word document. Completed form can be emailed to international@banff-buchan.ac.uk, posted to International Admissions, Banff & Buchan College, Henderson Road, Fraserburgh, AB43 9GA, Scotland or faxed to +44(0)1346 515370.
Complete the application form in full and pay particular attention to filling in accurate and readable information regarding your address, email, phone number, chosen course(s) and education section. Also please send a copy of your passport/ID and any qualifications. Applicants are also advised to pay special attention to the section ‘information to support your application’. As well as stating why you are applying for the course and why you want to study at our College, you may wish to tell us about your personal interests or achievements and/or your future study/career or employment goals.
What happens next?
Once we receive your application form we will confirm that we have received it. In general, it takes us approximately 21 working days to process your application. If your application meets the entry requirements and a place on the course is available we will send you a letter of Unconditional Offer. You do not have a confirmed place until you accept it by posting the acceptance slip back to us or simply emailing us your acceptance and pay any fees where applicable.
If when applying you are still awaiting examination results we shall issue a Conditional Offer and let you know what further requirement(s) you need to meet in order to obtain an unconditional offer. Once you have received your results please send us a photocopy of the document. If your results meet our entry requirements and you have met all the other entry requirements we will send you an unconditional offer which again you need to accept.
You can choose when you want to arrive in Scotland, but it should be before our International Welcome Course which takes place in August each year.
All applications are subject to the Admissions Policy of the College. A copy is available on request.
