College 2012 Project
The first stage of Banff and Buchan College redevelopment is now underway. The ambitious project will see the College transformed into a more modern learning space with increased capacity for the growing number of students. We want to give our students the best chance of success so it is paramount that they learn in surroundings which are modern, well-equipped and facilitate the highest quality of learning. In addition to the large number of students from across Aberdeenshire, the College is also becoming more and more popular with students from outside the UK and this project will help us to offer a more attractive package. A number of temporary classrooms were installed opposite the main college building which will allow us to refurbish different parts of the College with the minimum disruption to our students. During academic session 2010/11, some full-time courses will be delivered at our outreach premises in Ellon, close to Aberdeen. Classrooms and the social areas within the college will be upgraded with a more modern refectory, spaces will be created for quiet work areas and there will also be more social spaces for the students to take a break and unwind between classes. Banff and Buchan College’s redevelopment plan is due for completion in 2012.
