Banff and Buchan College, SVQ Level III, day-release, work-based and full-time Hairdressing Students, recently took part in a photo-shoot with Philip Stewart as part of their course module, “Develop and Enhance Your Creative Skills”. The students who took part are from Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Macduff, Inverurie and surrounding areas.
The students decided on their photo-shoot theme, “cover of a hair magazine”, and approached Philip Stewart to help.
The students researched looks and styles incorporating the latest trends which appear in hair magazines, arranged their own models hair and make-up during the morning in college, and then went to Philip Stewart’s studio in the afternoon. Philip Stewart very kindly offered his expert advice and services free of charge. During the afternoon Phillip explained how lighting works and gave tips on styling models suitable for a hair photo-shoot.
“Our students put a tremendous amount of work into this project. The models looked fantastic and the overall styling was very cutting edge. They more than fulfilled their project criteria.” says Wilma Tait and Jane Donald, Hairdressing Lecturers, Banff and Buchan College “We would like to say a big thank-you to Philip Stewart firstly for his generosity in giving us his time and expertise free of charge, as well as his professionalism and inspirational advice he gave the students.”
