Degree Link is a specific programme which enables students at Banff and Buchan College to go on to achieve an Honours degree at Robert Gordon University. It is mainly offered on a 2+2 basis, where students who successfully complete a College HND qualification can progress onto the third year of a relevant four year Honours degree at the University. Where the college does not offer an HND route, entry into second year at Robert Gordon University from an HNC course may be possible, and for those studying an Access course at college e.g. Access to Nursing, to enter into the first year of the appropriate Robert Gordon University degree course. Banff and Buchan College offers a wide range of courses that have degree link opportunities with Robert Gordon University, visit www.degree-link.org.uk to find out more.

Banff and Buchan College has recently set up a formal partnership agreement with the Open University. This agreement links up Banff & Buchan College’s suite of higher education qualifications to The Open University’s extensive range of courses and qualifications to create progression routes between the two learning providers. This means that local people will be able to benefit from multi-optional learning programmes that offer them a range of ways to develop their skills at the different stages in their lives.
Anyone studying HNC, HND or a range of other courses at the College, will be able to count credits from their studies towards an Open University degree. This will help them to build on the knowledge and skills they’ve already gained, and in many cases to reduce the length of time it takes to get a degree.
