No – this isn’t an article about holidays.  It’s all about Energy.

What are you going to be doing on those long cold winter nights?  Winter is fast approaching so come and learn more about Energy at the Huntly Learning Centre.

Global energy is the biggest challenge facing humanity. Clean energy, pollution, sustainability, and energy equality are all issues waiting to be unravelled. Would you like to find out more and explore how different types of energy impact the environment and ways in which this can be reduced?

Then enrol on the Introduction to Energy course at the Huntly learning Centre. This course will include studying conventional energy systems, hydro and nuclear power as well as renewable energy systems. You will look at the use of microgeneration wind turbine systems in the production of power and you will build and evaluate a wind turbine system. You will also design, manufacture and evaluate a solar hot water system.  The course will take place on a Thursday evening from 6pm – 9pm. It lasts 30 weeks, costs £168 and is ILA eligible.

Or if you already have engineering skills or completed the Introduction to Energy course last year then the Engineering project is the course for you. On this course you will create a project plan, implement the project by manufacturing a product and developing and carrying out functional test procedure on the project.

The course will take place on a Thursday evening from 7pm – 9pm. It lasts 20 weeks, costs £180 and is ILA eligible. To find out more and to book your place please call 01466 793204, come visit us at the Huntly Learning Centre, Gordon Street, Huntly or email Elaine at egordon@banff-buchan.ac.uk
